The Municipality of Århus is pleased to welcome you to Århus Town Hall.
The building was designed by Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller, and the official opening was held in 1941. It houses the city's administration offices and, at the same time, is a shining example of magnificent architectonic design.
The town hall has been described as a prime example of Scandinavian Functionalist architecture, which arose from the international Functionalist movement of the time.
For this reason, the town hall and its immediate surroundings were listed for preservation in 1995.
